Our full ADE program is here (!)
Even though festivals, beach days and terrace hopping are still priority items on our agenda, behind the scenes we’re already preparing RADION for one of the most remarkable festivals our nightlife capital has to offer. Soon, the city will be fully covered in Amsterdam Dance Event’s iconic yellow banners. We created a program reaching almost every corner of the electronic music spectrum, which we are presenting you with today.
Every October for twenty years long, Amsterdam has been covered in yellow and black for the Amsterdam Dance Event. What was a small party at one location in 1996 is now an event that takes place for multiple day throughout the whole city. During a special edition of De Nachttafel we reflect on two decennia of ADE.
With: ADE CEO Richard Zijlma, Kolja Verhage (Shelter Amsterdam), Paul Niezen (Into the Woods), Hans Jochem Dijk (NGHTDVSN), Fenno Verdaasdonk (KROOKS Records), Mirella Kroes and (former) night mayors Isis van der Wel and Mirik Milan.
HIGGS Live is back after one year of radio silence. You could imagine "consiglieri" of the Patron spending these past years searching for artists. They were carefully curated in the hunt for productions that can be both dance floor orientated as well as avant-garde at the same time. With this, Patron wants to create a guild starting with ENNIO, De Sluwe Vos and Lewski. Patron is celebrating the new release by label curator and Dutch house & techno kingpin; De Sluwe Vos. "A (Glitched) Lovestory" EP drops on October 16.
Line-up: Sluwe Vos, Dexter Artist Page, ENNIO, LA-4A, Lewski
On the first day of ADE we’re taking off with an ode to the B-side. What started out as a community of diggers dedicated to the flip side of a record, now turned into a conceptual club night. Running Back head honcho Gerd Janson will turn his full record collection upside down for the night.
Line-up: Gerd Janson, Thomas Hayat, Rick Rouge, Jurre Veen
Heading over from Berlin is Ellen Allien's label BPitch Control, along with what many would describe as the creators of the city's club scene: Tresor. Add RADION and Amsterdam based promoter Project Sugar to the mix and you're presented with four forward thinking parties teaming up to bring you the second day of ADE. No need for second thoughts with the selection of artists that came out of this collaboration. DJ Stingray, FJAAK live, Ellen Allien, Objekt, K-hand and Inga Mauer will each make their appearance in the uncompromising concrete rooms of RADION.
Line-up: Ellen Allien, DJ Stingray, FJAAK [live], Inga Mauer, Objekt, K-hand, Thara Bergen, Stefan Kuipers, Cesan Bucek
Coolest parties on the block; Mood & Banlieue join forces on ADE Friday. Amsterdam-based Mood steps out of their comfort zone by presenting a refined techno line-up in our main room. They’ll bring renowned artists with ages of experience in searching, selecting and creating dance music. Banlieue continues to showcase their love for musical (r)evolutions with another off-centred program in the notorious Bovenkamer. While in previous years the New York based avant-garde labels L.I.E.S. and Minimal Wave presented their finest, it’s now time for the London based Diagonal imprint to set the pace.
Line-up: Convextion [live], Jane Fitz, Powell Not Waving [live], Deepchord [live], Aubrey, Prostitutes [live], Andrea Parker, Jaime Frias, Joris Zwetsloot, Mark Antoni, Daan
Resident Advisor will return to Amsterdam for the second time during ADE. They bring a selection of their favourite artists especially for the occasion. Ben UFO plays the main room alongside Japan’s DJ Nobu, German techno artist Dana Ruh and Discwoman’s Umfang. The Bovenkamer will find itself in disco, house and leftfield sounds. Izabel, who started the Lullabies For Insomniacs label, will open the evening. Up and coming Jayda G will perform as well, as will the New York duo Mister Saturday Night, who are making their Amterdam debut.
Line-up: DJ Nobu, Ben Ufo, Dana Ruh, Umfang, Mister Saturday Night, Jayda G, Izabel
On Sunday you can go to church, visit your parents or take a long nap. You could also go soulful on the last day of ADE. For the third time in a row Our Society hosts the grande ADE closing at RADION. After having Moodymann and Theo Parrish on the bill the past two years, this year sees a special B2B session by Soul in the Hole, Sadar Bahar and Lee Collins. It will be the first ever ADE show of two of Chicago’s best kept secrets. Moving from Chicago to Detroit, in the main room it’s Kyle Hall and Jay Daniel who will take care of the full motor city experience.
Line-up: Jay Daniel, Kyle Hall, Soul in the Hole: Sadar Bahar and Lee Collins [all night], Wendel Sield
